| Arbitration Certificate Course in Cochin | |
ADR Centre, Cochin (an initiative of Centre for Public Policy Research) is joining hands with Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb UK) India Branch to conduct a two day training programme at Cochin in March( exact dates will be announced soon) leading to award of the certificate: "Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK)" . Programme Objective Arbitration is a formal, private and binding process through which disputes are resolved by an Award made by an independent Arbitral Tribunal. The Arbitral Tribunal or Panel of Arbitrators is either agreed by the disputed parties or nominated by a further independent body e.g. court or a professional arbitration institution like ADR Centre. Under the provisions of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996, any person irrespective of their qualifications can be appointed as an arbitrator. Institutions like the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) – India Branch have also taken up the task of developing Arbitration in India with the co-operation of like minded institutions such as ADR Centre by conducting programmes related to Arbitration Aim of the programme To provide an understanding of the general principles of arbitration and a comparison of the main alternative dispute resolution processes – arbitration, mediation and reconciliation. The course will give candidates a basic understanding of the principles of good practice and procedure in arbitration. Who Can Attend?
